As most of you know, we had a Christmas wedding! Most of you watched as I practiced a makeup tutorial on our bride Mackenzie or perhaps you saw my near 3 hour wedding cake decorating live video that exploded. Kenzie has now become part of our family, not just our JPF Family, but Joel decided to hire her as his therapist, so we get to see her several times a week.
Kenzie first visited the farm back in the spring last year. She was a frustrated bride that was commuting 10 hours from her home as a full time student, just trying to plan her destination wedding. David is stationed here in Jacksonville with the Navy (or was at the time). I met him during their engagement session. Kenzie is bubbly and energetic and so sweet, and David is her opposite. He is introverted, quiet, well except around her. He smiles and smiles and smiles for days. They have been friends since middle school, but did not start dating for many many years later.
Kenzie did not come to have a farm wedding, in fact she wasn't drawn to us for that reason at all. The convenience of having everything she wanted, with one vendor, set her mind at ease, especially being so far away planning a wedding. We connected instantly.
She had a few things on her list that she wanted or didn't want for her big day. She didn't want red in her wedding at all. The date was set just 2 days prior to Christmas, but the only thing that she wanted to resemble Christmas were lots of lights, since it gets darker earlier in the winter. Winter wonderland-check! She wanted a neutral wedding with touches of blue. She really wanted David to wear his blues for their wedding and he was adamant to not let that happen, but looks like our bride go her way on that one ;) Good job David! We add hints of blue to her bouquet and to their cake with blueberries. We did end up adding pinecones to enhance the winter theme, embrace our pine brand (yay), and add some texture. She loved the hints of the tiny pine cones in her bouquet.
Kenzie also wanted drapery in our large tree. I found some gorgeous creamy chiffon and we made it happen with the help of her family. If you watched this live, It took quiet a few hands to get it up in the tree. She also wanted our birch wood arch with drapery to match, so we placed it at the end of the aisle and dressed it so with some magnolia leaves and more pinecones to repeat the textured element. She decided she didn't want all the attention on her (so many brides feel this way), so her groom to the initiative to make a last minute change to the table arrangements to bring them real close together and put them in a snowflake shape. It was brilliant! She and I also built a pallet backdrop for her dance floor and a photo back drop (watch their live stream first dance). I love when brides want to be apart of the process and jump in.
The last thing she requested was a coffee bar. She loves some coffee! So there was a dunking donuts French vanilla smell lingering around the icicle lights and the Christmas tree which was covered in lights. It was perfect.
I'll let the videos and the photos tell the rest of their enchanting winter wonderland wedding story! Enjoy!
Jackson Pine Farm catered to the following: bouquet, wedding cake, planning, coordination, venue, decorating, photography, and more.
Kenzie has also been working on developing a wellness program for JPF, so I'll be introducing her sometime next week with her vision. We are so excited to get to do life with her!
