Little Jayce {Newborn Session}

By now you know we basically consider Sarah (Joel's Physical Therapist) and Matt apart of our family. When they welcomed little Jayce into the world, we waited and waited with them. I knew Sarah and Matt were excited to become parents for the past few years, as we talked about becoming parents too!
It had been a long time since I did a newborn session and it is the first one on the farm. So it was extra special and sweet to share this time with them and capturing him at 7 days old.
Without further ado, here's little Jayce.
How did you come up with his name?
We loved Jayce from name lists and Kenneth is both of our grandfathers names
How are you taking note of all the little moments?
I have a new born book to fill with pictures.
What were Jayce's Measurements at birth?
7 lbs 14 oz and 20 inches
When was your due date? When was he born?
October 20th and 4:35 am October 27th
What unique grandparent names will your parents have?
Nana and Papa for Matt’s parents Mimi and Big Poppa Jack for Sarah’s parents
How has he grown? What has changed since birth?
He is constantly changing every day with a growing personality and already over a pound over birth weight.
How did you tell Matt you were pregnant?
Asked if he saw a second line on the test too? Haha then we had to go get the test that clearly said “pregnant”
How long had you been trying to get pregnant?
A year and a half
What theme is his nursery?
Adventure
What did you crave during your pregnancy?
Milkshakes
How long were you in labor?
12 hours

Who changes his diapers?
Everyone helps
What was your favorite part of pregnancy?
Getting to have milkshakes anytime I wanted
What was the first night with Jayce home like?
Cluster feeding every half hour
What was your least favorite part?
Being hot all of the time and not having Matt home for 6 months of it to reach things off the floor
Who does Jayce look like?
Sarah’s brother mixed with Matt’s facial expressions
What has been the biggest surprise about becoming new parents?
We are surprisingly good at it (shes' not lying... it comes so natural, just watching them)
Do you have any pets? How have they adjusted?
We have 4 dogs and the Yorkie thinks she is his mom and the others frequently check to make sure he is okay
What is the secret to a good life?
Staying calm and enjoying every moment
How old will Jayce be when he's allowed to date (haha)?
