Chalk Couture: DIY Dinner and a Demo with the JPF Girls

We are so excited to have "Do It Yourself" night with you all! We have joined forces with Chalk Couture and want you to join in the fun.

So what the world is Chalk Couture?

So here's the deal- you get a stencil, an ink (permanent for textile and wood surfaces) or a paste (non-permanent for chalkboard surfaces), a squeegee, and a surface to "paint" on.

Join us for a LIVE Demo (in your pjs and glass of wine):

We will be hosting a JPF LIVE event, demoing our own creations for a fun girl's night to celebrate Mackenzie's birthday. We encourage you to find a surface in your home that's dying for some love, order one from our Chalk Couture Shop or pick one up from a craft store. Simply order your chalking supplies and join us with a girlfriend or your kiddos. This should be a blast!

When: The LIVE Demo will be Saturday, November 10th at 7pm, however you can watch it on replay from any of our social media platforms. We will be sharing a yummy recipe and grocery list to go with it to make it Dinner and a Demo.

Where: We will host the event as part of our JPF Family group on facebook. If you're not a member, simply join us.

What are we Making?

Lauren will be taking a wood tray and adding "gather" to it to bring in the holiday festivities.

Mackenzie will be making a pillow case with a wreath and her last initial with our Chalk ink. You are welcome to make whatever your heart so desires though, and we encourage you to do it, girl!

Choose a Surface:

All kinds of fun surfaces can be used, too. From throw pillows to bags and wood signs to slate cheese trays. Here are a couple we carry. But check out our surfaces in our Chalk Couture Shop .

You can purchase a two-pack of 100% cotton made 17.5"x17.5" Canvas Pillow Covers. Specifically designed for Chalk Transfers and Couture Ink.

This beautiful wooden surface is double-sided, featuring a dark stain on one side and a whitewashed finish on the other side. This frame measures 6.5" x 18.5", and is a versatile surface that adds charm to any environment. One-time application only; not for removable designs.

**Some things to keep in mind when selecting your ink/paste:

Couture Ink: Offers permanent color when heat set and is ideal for fabric, apparel, and other soft surfaces. Read all use and care instructions for fabulous results, and test a small area on your favorite surface before use.

Chalkology Paste: Specially formulated for Chalk Couture's Porcelain Steel Chalkboards. Can also be used on other nonporous surfaces such as mirrors, windows, glass, painted walls and painted furniture. Hard, matte finish when dry.

Tools of the Trade:

Depending on your surface size and type you will need a few good squeegees. We recommend at least getting a couple sizes just to have some flexibility.

This is the angled squeegee, and my preference because of all the different angle options it offers.

There are other options, I would suggest the small squeegee for smaller surfaces such as tea towels or cloth napkins. and a large squeegee for a larger surface such as a chalk board or wood sign.

To sum it up:

Start with the transfer and put it on the surface of your choosing and squeegee over it with your paste/ink.
